Lisa Wines Collage FAT CATS CELEBRATE WORLD DESTRUCTION

Men are gathered together sipping champagne, smoking cigars and laughing. The foot of the man on the far right is crushing tiny protesters beneath him. Around the men are scenes of bombed cities and destroyed buildings. The men are celebrating their world destruction, the resulting spoils of war and the possibility of new beachfront property they can exploit.

Lisa Wines: "When the world is suffering at the hands of and to the benefit of rich and powerful men, the cruelty, brutality and obscenity of it all lingers in my subconscious mind. It's no wonder that it shows up in my art. Human beings have died or lost everything they own or are homeless. I can't look at these images without feeling great sorrow and anger. But these men celebrate it. This isn't a 'pretty picture' but it's a reality I, and I think all of us, have to face."
