Susan Reed

Susan Reed is a jeweler and cork handbag designer in Camp Verde, Arizona.

Susan's design process in her own words: "I design the shapes and either hand saw them myself or have them laser cut from 1/16” thick wood. I then use a computer program to combine and alter the original designs and print them out on paper. The paper is then applied to the wooden shape I have chosen and then I work back into them with paint, nail polish, colored pencil, and ink. Once the design is completed the entire piece is sealed in two coats of clear resin. The back of each earring has a paper back applied in a matching color then sealed in clear acrylic.

For her handbags, Susan works exclusively in cork because of its beauty, durability, and sustainability as a renewable resource.
